First Sorrowful Mystery - The Agony of Our Lord Jesus in the Garden

They came to a place named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, "Sit here until I have prayed."  And He took with Him Peter and James and John, and began to be very distressed and troubled.   And He said to them, "My soul is deeply grieved to the point of death; remain here and keep watch."

And He went a little beyond them, and fell to the ground and began to pray that if it were possible, the hour might pass Him by.  And He was saying, "Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will."  And He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "Simon, are you asleep? Could you not keep watch for one hour?  Keep watching and praying that you may not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."

Again He went away and prayed, saying the same words.  And again He came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy; and they did not know what to answer Him.  And He came the third time, and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting?  It is enough; the hour has come; behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.  "Get up, let us be going; behold, the one who betrays Me is at hand!"

Third Sorrowful Mystery – The Crowning of Our Blessed Lord with Thorns

They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him.  And after twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand; and they knelt down before Him and mocked Him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!"  They spat on Him, and took the reed and began to beat Him on the head.   After they had mocked Him, they took the scarlet robe off Him and put His own garments back on Him, and led Him away to crucify Him.

Fifth Sorrowful Mystery – The Crucifixion and Death of Our Lord

When they came to the place called The Skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left.  But Jesus was saying, "Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing."  And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves.  And the people stood by, looking on. And even the rulers were sneering at Him, saying, "He saved others; let Him save Himself if this is the Christ of God, His Chosen One."

The soldiers also mocked Him, coming up to Him, offering Him sour wine, and saying, "If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself!"  Now there was also an inscription above Him, "THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS."  One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, and “Are You not the Christ.   Save Yourself and us!"  But the other answered, and rebuking him said, "Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation?  "And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong."

And he was saying, "Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!"  And He said to him, "Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise."  It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness fell over the whole land until the ninth hour, because the sun was obscured; and the veil of the temple was torn in two.

And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, "Father, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT." Having said this, He breathed His last.  Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he began praising God, saying, "Certainly this man was innocent."
