New Dawn in the Church at Walsingham

Pilgrimages are intended to remind us of our journey in faith back to our heavenly Father. The Marian Shrine at Walsingham has been a place of Pilgrimage since the 11th century (interrupted for three hundred years after the destruction of the Priory by Henry VIII in 1538) attracting people from many countries who came to receive strength from God to continue their journey of faith.

Twenty three years ago a different kind of pilgrimage was introduced by the Prince of Peace Community under the title of "New Dawn In The Church", attracting large numbers (now three thousand people) from various countries to participate in a five day event (now six days) with a comprehensive programme to suit people of all ages.

A special feature of the Pilgrimage will be the procession to the site of the Holy House in the Priory grounds.
